Funmaxxing

Hi, I’m Kyle, PhD, board-certified in applied joy, professeur at l’Académie de l’Amusement. Through exhaustive study, I’ve uncovered a new form of maxxing.

I used to work sixty-hour weeks and call it living. Then I tried funmaxxing myself.

Achieve maximum fun. Most people never unlock this. You might think it sounds too simple, but stay with me.

There are two paths to funmaxxing. Soft funmaxxing: a walk with a friend. Hard funmaxxing: a game of Uno with friends. Both require nothing more than showing up.

The protocol is simple.

  1. Put the phone down.
  2. Go outside.
  3. Identify what you love.
  4. Do it, even on days you don’t feel like it.

If you’re worried that funmaxxing requires a hammer, it might. If you love building birdhouses, bring one.

Results may vary. Consult your doctor before attempting hard funmaxxing.

To track your progress, measure three key metrics.

  1. Chuckles per minute.
  2. Minutes spent doing something with no measurable outcome.
  3. Degree to which the activity resisted optimization.

Compare your scores against friends. Compete and unlock badges and other prizes.

See the exciting RCT showing an 89 percent improvement in fun using these proven methods.

Testimonials are already coming in.

I used to scroll for hours and feel nothing. Then I tried funmaxxing. Now I laugh, actually laugh, several times a week.

Rembrandt Self-Portrait, 1659 — close-up of face

I was skeptical. Doing what you love sounded too simple. Three days in, I caught myself smiling for no reason.

My friends noticed the change before I did. They said, you seem lighter. I said, I’m funmaxxing.
